OverviewThis major new work on EC Competition Law is written exclusively by a team of current and former officials at the Competition directorate of the European Commission, and is therefore set to become a landmark publication in the field. While they write in their personal capacities (the book is not a statement of official Commission policy), the make-up of the team will ensure that the book provides a highly practical commentary with unique insights into current practice and future trends. The work draws upon the experience of those working inside Europe's principal competition authority to furnish the reader with a comprehensive, coherent and practical description and analysis of the law. In doing so, the book attempts to explain the rationale which underpins the law, and seeks to identify and guide the reader on issues which may arise in the future (or on which the law is undecided) - both elements that are missing from many of the existing books available on the subject. A further particular strength of the book is the attention given to sectoral issues, with self-contained chapters drawing upon the expertise of relevant officials in particular fields such as information, transport, finance and energy. Table of ContentsReviewsThe particular and unique appeal of this work lies in the fact that its authors are all officials at DG competition, the department of the Commission charged with competition matters. Unsurprisingly, therefore, it is very widely consulted by practitioners in the field and greatly appreciated for the consistent quality and depth of its analysis. The Antitrust Bulletin ... an excellent complementary volume to Bellamy & Child. Even at GBP125 it is well worth the investment and will be consulted frequently by anyone seriously dealing with EC competition law. European Journal of Law Reform ... an essential guide for all practitioners and regulatory officials whose work touches upon EC competition/antitrust law and practice. European Access Author InformationJonathan Faull is Deputy Director General of the EC Commission Directorate General IV (DGIV), and Professor of Law at the Free University of Brussels. Ali Nikpay is a barrister specialising in EC Competition Law, currently working at DGIV. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
