Alan Gibbons is a teacher who is passionate about Manchester United Football Club and daft dogs. He is an advocate of libraries and runs the Campaign for the Book. He has also published sixteen children's books, and has won awards for many of them, including the Blue Peter Book Award in 2000. His books have been translated into over ten languages. He lives in Liverpool.
