The Dutchman's Gold

Overview

The Dutchman’s Gold is a historical novel involving a pair of situational treasure hunters from New York who are enticed into a search for one of this country’s largest treasures. The Lost Dutchman Gold Mine in Arizona has attracted thousands of seekers over the past two centuries, all trying to use a series of tantalizing crews to locate the hidden mine. The clues left behind are not fictional; they are real, as is the bloody trail of the bodies of treasure hunters who have pursued the legend of the mine. The two main characters in this story, Chris Carey and Sean Riggins, have acquired a great amount of accolades and fame in recent years by solving two of the most famous and intriguing mysteries involving hidden treasure. Previously, they uncovered clues to locate millions of dollars in gold and invaluable American treasures. Their reputations in uncovering such antiquities has led to an invitation to help locate the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine. This endeavor further leads to some unimaginable discoveries, including the Great Adirondack Train Wreck of 1913 and a new understanding of the life of Alvah Dunning, one of the Adirondack’s most famous hermits. The Dutchman’s Gold is a non-stop, nail-biting tale of sleuth against an unexpected adversary. Throughout the narrative, Chris, Sean, and their supporting cast overcome a host of greedy rivals to solve the centuries-old mystery. It concludes with a surprise ending that combines intrigue and suspense with the treasure hunters’ sense of morality toward the Native American land owners. This book will be of great interest to mystery readers and history buffs alike. It is a real page-turner that will have you on the edge of your seat until the very final paragraph.
