Her scientific research focuses on the genetics of the worm Caenorhabditis elegans. In 2013, she presented the prestigious Royal Institution Christmas Lectures. Dr Sophie Gilbert is a geneticist who has also studied the worm Caenorhabditis elegans. She trained with Alison Woollard at the University of Oxford, finishing her Phd in 2016.
