He is not very fond of giving his compositions to the world having been hypercritical & odious for his severity. 25. Several persons have been apprehended for the thefts at the late fire & the Goldsmith's Shop kept by Balch & Co. was opened by destroying the wood work by proper tools & robbed of property in watches & Jewelry of considerable amount. The theft is in the way of discovery. This was a deliberate & bold act as the watch house was at the other end of the Street. The retreat however lead to suspect some alarm.
