OverviewThis book is a project of transparency. These printed words are a culmination of life experiences that have been buried inside of me for years. It tells the story of Gail and where I came from. What road was I going down, with no one to teach me right from wrong or good from bad? This story is the height and depth of a young girl's life, and how she endured pain and suffering at the hands of her mother and men in her life. It epitomizes the struggle of living with children as a single parent without any support. It is how I endured and came forth victorious. Prayerfully, these words will inspire someone and encourage others to press on and endure another day to higher heights. The primary goal for my story is to show how they, too, can overcome any adversities and obstacles that may come their way, just as I have. I grew up in Norfolk, Virginia with my family of three: my brother, my mother, and me. I went to the local schools, Campostella Junior High School and Lake Taylor High. Life was not so great for me in Virginia, so I relocated to Pleasantville, New Jersey in 1991, where I stayed with my father and my two children. I worked in several casinos. I have been a member of Second Baptist Church for the last 20 years under the leadership of Pastor Collins A. Days, Sr. I am the proud mother of four beautiful children: two boys and two girls. I am the even prouder grandmother of nine beautiful grandchildren. I currently take care of three of my granddaughters. I am employed by the Atlantic City Board of Education at New York Avenue School as an office aide. After realizing I needed to do more with my life, I applied and attended Atlantic Cape May Community College. One of the biggest accomplishments of my life was when I graduated in 2014 with an Associate degree in Sociology After reaching that goal, I was encouraged to do more and that's when The Diamond came along. This is one of my ultimate goals. I never thought I could do it, but God said different. So here I am, The Diamond! Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
