Overview

Hemingway warned, Never think war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified, is not a crime. The Devils of Eden echoes those words throughout its introspective look at the modern battlefield. You won't find the common glorifications that decorate most war stories. Holsworth gutwrenchingly exposes the actions and psyches of the 21st-century soldier as he follows a group of reconnaissance paratroopers during a tragic deployment at a remote firebase in the Paktia Province of Eastern Afghanistan. This novel is unrivaled in its time and will serve as an honest depiction of America's War on Terror for a generation to come.

Reviews

Holsworth is the real deal... The Devils of Eden will have the impact of a sledgehammer on your dome and is destined to be a classic in contemporary war... Raw and unflinchingly honest, Devils resonated with me and his Prologue set the tone, referencing the cultural indoctrination that is a prerequisite to becoming a killing machine... Holsworth's vernacular, narrative flow, candid introspection, astonishing lucidity, stentorian sentence sound, and quick-witted observational acumen makes The Devils of Eden not just compelling, but essential reading. - Reno Tahoe Tonight
