Overview

From beginning to end, the Bible presents devils as a living reality to the saint. They are something the Bible believer fully expects to encounter in this present evil world. They are a part of the daily life of the Gentiles and their idolatry. There are a multitude of specific names that they worship, sacrifice to and fellowship around (Zech. 13:2; 1 Cor. 10:14-22). These are their foundation rocks in which they trust. This ungodly faith and communion stands in opposition to the communion of Christ. Cases of devil possession were rampant in the time of Christ. These afflictions were as common as the physical sicknesses that also filled the land at that time. To properly understand this phenomenon, we must look past the hype and sensationalism often associated with this subject. We will see that it is not the presence of devilish activity that is different today, but how the saint is going to deal with it. This requires going beyond the veil of flesh and into the realm of spirit. To understand the larger devilish warfare that takes place in the affairs of men, we must journey through the very being of man himself. Looking into the perfect mirror of scripture, we will appreciate the portrait it paints of man's identity and see THE DEVILS IN THE DETAILS. David Winston Busch is a Teaching Elder at Columbia River Bible Fellowship in Vancouver, WA. His passion is for the edification of the saints and the magnification of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is committed to the preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery (Rom. 16:25). His books include Appointed, The Assyrian, More Than Conquerors, The Fulness of Christ, Up & Away, Behold and Through the Looking Glass.
