Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationFrank Aubrey was the pseudonym of Francis Henry Atkins (1847-1927), a popular British pulp fiction writer. While not much is known about Atkins, he published widely in some of the leading Victorian pulp magazines and is seen as a pioneer in the lost world genre of science fiction. The Devil Tree of El Dorado (1896), his most famous novel, is a story of fantasy and adventure set in the colony of British Guiana. Atkins’ son, Frank Howard Atkins, would follow in his footsteps to become a successful pulp fiction writer in his own right, publishing stories in Pearson’s Magazine, The Grand Magazine, and Adventure.
