Overview

Spanning across many years, this collection of poems strives to articulate Anthony's inner thoughts at different stages in life. Throughout his life, Anthony always found himself pondering his relationship with the world and with people. Never truly fitting in, isolation and loneliness latched on early, creating a deviated form of his true self. Initially, Anthony wrote poetry from an escapism point of view, thinking, ""how could he write a story that takes him away from here?"" Here, as Anthony came to find, was his way of saying pain. Pain from interpersonal relationships; pain from low self-esteem; pain from people pleasing; pain from inadequacy; pain from existing authentically; pain conceived from pain. This collection offers an introspective view of Anthony's ""hear"" at different stages: ranging from bashful to rebellious, bitter to blissful.
