The Dementia Garden is a magical, special and touching story about Lily and her grandfather who has Dementia. Whilst Grandpa may no longer recognise his granddaughter or be able to look after himself, luckily, he showed Lily where all of his favourite people, memories and words now are. A moving and heart-warming story about how our most special memories are never truly lost. 'I loved The Dementia Garden as a piece of flash fiction, I think it's inventive and endearing. It doesn't waste any time getting to the meat of the story, and it boasts of plenty of small details that help the bigger picture come to light. Additionally, I think the pacing unfolds perfectly for the short length of the story, and the reality of what was taking place in Grandpa's dementia garden dawned on me at what I think was just the right spot during the story. I think my favorite thing about it is that it takes such a serious and often bleak topic and manages quite successfully to lend it an air of lightheartedness and even optimism-this was a great juxtaposition of emotions mixed into this little tale.' Did you know I love biscuits? I like chocolate ones the best. I think that's what Grandpa and Lily like too. I also liked all the drawings in the book and the story was very special.
