Overview

A group of six children were born on the first day of the new Cycle. They are known as ""Defiants"", a headstrong and determined class of individuals who are seen as abnormal to the other citizens, Poliards and Eccentrics. In Amorc, every start of the Cycle, the first born children that have a genetic mutation called the ""Defiant Gene"" are sent to an arena when they are eighteen to prove their worthiness and to show that they deserve life just as much as anyone else. They are tasked with completing multiple different, and often complicated, stages called ""Challenges"". If they complete all of the Challenges and survive until the end, they will be pardoned, as well as the entire community of Defiants for that Cycle. Now, the six teens that are participating in the Challenges of the third Cycle are taking a new approach to the course and trying to solve a bigger issue; the leader, The Potent, has been harming the Defiants on the whereabouts of his daughter. They have to make it through the Challenges, while also trying to prevent a disastrous massacre from occurring. 'The Defiant 6s' is a compelling and encapsulating piece about discovering the true worth of a misrepresented group of individuals. Will they be more than what is told about them, or will they stay the unnatural path they've always pursued?
