Our theory (anti-intentionalist theory of translation) is based on the fundamental principle that in translation practice, regardless of the translator's intention, the target text makes sense independently of the translator. In other words, the purpose of translation in translation practice is meaningless. On the other hand, it is the reader's interpretation that constitutes the meaning of the target text, not the translator's intention. The reader actively participates in the act of comprehension, but not with the aim of accessing any intention on the part of the translator.
