Author Information

AJ Jarman is an author and Illustrator born and raised in the picturesque north of Tasmania, Australia's beautiful green island state. With a background in education AJ has been artistic and creative from the very beginning, AJ's artistic expression began as a child in a small tent in her parent's intriguing back yard in the historic town of Longford where she would while away the spring and summer afternoons drawing, painting, sculpting and creating with no restraint. The small tent her studio, the walls transforming into a giant canvas, the tent was a haven to transform treasures into rudimentary works of art and to help AJ tell her story. Treasures such as leaves, feathers, twigs and seedpods gathered on sunny afternoon walks over the creek and along the barely used dusty driveway of the farmlands and enchanting old homestead at the end of the street. In this beguiling world AJ created she found a safe place to escape where colour, shape and texture became voice and delivered the foundation for a lifelong love of creating and set the foundation as an emerging author and illustrator.
