Valdron is a Canadian speculative fiction and non-fiction writer, best known for Starlost Unauthorized and the Quest for Canadian Identity, and for a trilogy of collections of short horror - Giant Monsters Sing Sad Songs, There Are No Doors in Dark Places, and What Devours Also Hungers. He is a prolific writer of fantasy, horror, science fiction and alternate history. A former drive-in theatre projectionist, auto-mechanic, journalist, carpenter, schoolteacher and ne'er do well, he currently makes his living as an aboriginal rights lawyer.
