Author Information

Nina Polak is a journalist, and fiction and nonfiction writer. Her debut novel, We zullen niet te pletter slaan, was published in 2014, and was nominated for the the Anton Wachter Prize 2014, the ANV Debutantenprijs 2015 and the Opzij Literatuurprijs 2015. Her second novel, Gebrek is een groot woord, won the BNG Bank Literature Prize 2018. She studied literary studies and cultural analysis at the University of Amsterdam and at the New School University in New York. She is an editor at De Correspondent and writes for De Groene Amsterdammer. Her most recent book is an anthology of essays on Dutch and Flemish literature in the 21st Century, which she co-edited with Joost de Vries.
