Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationDaniella Bozzone grew up in suburban Tennessee and began studying ballet, jazz, tap and contemporary early on. She, as many dancers are, was completely smitten and obsessed with all things dance. Over the years her wanderings took her to and from dance and other art disciplines. She has a BA in English with a minor in painting, she studied drawing and painting in Florence, Italy, and has a master's in dance from FSU. She has worked as a dancer, choreographer, instructor, and professor of dance at various points throughout her young adult life. She has also written and illustrated children's books that promote gratitude and mindfulness. The inspiration for The Dancer Journal came from benefits she has found in mindfulness and daily practice in her post dance career days. (She still dances, but more for fun than profit these days.) She wrote this book because she wished she had had it as a young dancer. As will happen in any discipline, discouragements pop up along the way - that often takes the form of body image struggles, injury, or some other thief of the joy and intention of a discipline. A daily practice that includes gratitude and intention will win over these discouraging mentalities. Her hope for this book is that the joy and artistry of the dancer who uses it will always be in the forefront for that artist. The illustrations and photographs in this book were creations that Bozzone made as a result of her inspiration from dance or her use of mindfulness in her daily life. Bozzone has traveled the world and worked in many creative capacities within and outside of artistic pursuits. In all of these things a growing practice of purposefulness and gratitude has enriched all aspects of her life. All things are possible, and for that she is grateful.
