OverviewTrauma is nondiscriminatory. it can occur at any age and affect different categories of people, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, socio-economic background, workforce, community or religious affiliation. Experiencing trauma never prepared me for the unforeseen events that happened beyond my control. And to my surprise, according to SAMHSA's National Child Traumatic Stress Initiative (NCSTI), over two-thirds of children report at least one traumatic event by the age of 16. Trauma is becoming increasingly recognized as a significant factor in a wide range of health, behavioral health, and social problems. A series of traumatic experiences altered my core beliefs, perception of the world, and interaction with people. After recognizing how having a traumatic history impacted my overall wellness, God gave me the inspiration to write this book to provide tools for healing, recovery and empowerment, to help others move towards a life with more hope than fear. This Trauma workbook is my personal journey of how I began to take my life back by applying coping skills, mentioned in this book. As you read through the pages and engage in the exercises listed, your involvement will not only produce favorable results, but newfound freedom in life, with continued practice and the strength of God.
