Overview

Six unique women - One common goal. The troubled lives of six Spanish women coincide, collide and intersect. Pedro and Maria are trapped in a loveless marriage, unable to divorce because of the teachings of the catholic church. Pedro meets Rosa, a naïve girl half his age, falls in love and builds her a home. But their world is doomed from the start. Pedro cannot sustain two households; Maria faces the disapproval of her beloved church and Rosa becomes pregnant. When Pepa; a radical feminist, enters their lives, grievances and resentments are put aside and the women form an unlikely alliance campaigning for the Spanish suffragettes. The novel is a tribute to the human spirit; how resentment can turn into empathy, and love can emerge out of hate.
