Reviews

A great deal can be gained by consulting his passages about ritual times, objects, languages, and 'what rituals do'. Highly recommended. A. F. Roberts, Choice, There is much in Grimesas book to inform the liturgist about text, image, and gesture, and many examples to stimulate reflection. Revd Dr David Martin, Church Times

To say that Ronald Grimes is a major figure is an understatement. His books-this the latest of them-are witness to his accomplishment as an original thinker. This book is a culminating effort that will invigorate the field. --Richard Schechner, Professor of Performance Studies, New York University
