She has worked and conducted research in safety management in a variety of high-risk industries for many years. She has published a number of papers and books on safety management, and is a member of the international NeTWork think tank addressing safety from a multidisciplinary perspective, as well as the strategic analysis group FonCSI (Foundation for an Industrial Safety Culture). Kenneth Pettersen Gould is an associate professor in risk management and societal safety at the University of Stavanger. His research concerns how risk, reliability, safety and security is analysed and managed in organizational contexts, and how regulatory and management strategies in these areas can be further developed. A particular area of interest is the management of safety and security in technological systems, with critical infrastructures, transportation systems and civil aviation as focus areas.
