The Corpse with the Ruby Lips: 2nd Edition

Overview

""I want you to help me find out who murdered my grandmother."" Welsh Canadian criminologist Cait Morgan is invited to be a guest lecturer at a Budapest university, but her retired-cop husband Bud Anderson must stay at home to care for his aging parents, so she reluctantly makes the month-long trip on her own. Soon after arriving, one of her new students pleads with Cait to help her uncover clues about her grandmother's unsolved murder, which happened decades earlier on the campus of Cait's own home university in Canada. Cait agrees, but when she's hassled by a creepy colleague, and discovers bizarre and troubling details about the student's family members, Cait is beset by uncertainty. As she gets closer to the truth, Cait's investigation puts the powers-that-be on high alert, and her instincts tell her she's in grave danger. Bud races to Budapest to come to Cait's side, but will he be too late? This is the SECOND EDITION of the eighth Cait Morgan Mystery, where Cait walks into a deadly situation she truly didn't foresee.

Reviews

PRAISE FOR THE CAIT MORGAN MYSTERIES ""In the finest tradition of Agatha Christie...Ace brings us the closed-room drama, with a dollop of romantic suspense and historical intrigue."" - Library Journal ""...touches of Christie or Marsh but with a bouquet of Kinsey Millhone."" - The Globe and Mail ""...a sparkling, well-plotted and quite devious mystery in the cozy tradition..."" - Hamilton Spectator ""...If all of this suggests the school of Agatha Christie, it's no doubt what Cathy Ace intended. She is, as it fortunately happens, more than adept at the Christie thing."" - Toronto Star ""Cait unravels the...mystery using her eidetic memory and her powers of deduction, which are worthy of Hercule Poirot."" - The Jury Box, Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine ""This author always takes us on an adventure. She always makes us think. She always brings the setting to life. For those reasons this is one of my favorite series."" - Escape With Dollycas Into A Good Book ""...a testament to an author who knows how to tell a story and deliver it with great aplomb."" - Dru's Musings ""...perfect for those that love travel, food, and/or murder (reading it, not committing it)."" - BOLO Books ""...Ace is, well, an ace when it comes to plot and description."" - The Globe and Mail
