Overview

The construction site band is ready. It's time for the day to begin. A delightfully noisy book that celebrates all the noise and colour of city life. 'I enjoyed thinking about how the machinery sounds would interact with people's day. Perhaps one of the most special things for me about this book, is the idea that people can hear music in their lives if they listen closely and use their imagination' Jennifer Loakes

Author Information

Jennifer Loakes is an internationally published children's author based in sunny Brisbane. The Construction Site Band is her fourth book with Windy Hollow Books. Since she was a little girl, Jennifer's been listening to stories, reading stories, and thinking up stories of her own. When stories take a back seat, Jennifer works as a psychologist and enjoys spending time with her family and being at the beach. Kelly Canby is an award-winning internationally published illustrator and author of over two dozen books for children. Kelly was born in London, England, but has lived in Australia since the age of three, which is probably around the same age she started playing with pencils and crayons, and it was probably only a few years after that that she decided playing with pencils and crayons was something she wanted to do for the rest of her life.
