He founded the Special Needs Vision Clinic and The Institute for Innovative Blind Navigation at the Millet Learning Center in Saginaw, Michigan. He taught orientation and mobility in special education for over 30 years. Dr. Baldwin also coined the term Navigational Disability and developed a curriculum for teaching navigation skills to students in special education. He is the author of two previous books: Bug, Blindness, and the Pursuit of Happiness in 2016, and Consciousness: A New Slant on an Old Conundrum in 2017.
