The Coming Food Crisis: How Corporations, Activists, and Climate Alarmists Are Waging War on Farmers

Overview

They're coming for your food. Multinational corporations. Animal rights extremists. Climate crusaders. Together, they're waging a relentless assault on America's farms--and your freedom to eat what you choose. In The Coming Food Crisis, John Klar rips back the curtain on the hidden power grab reshaping how and what we eat. Every year, more farm families vanish, replaced by corporate giants and imported products. As food prices soar and supply chains wobble, Klar exposes the powerful forces--political, activist, and corporate--turning America's and the world's food supply into a tool of control. He reveals how agenda-driven climate and animal rights policies drive up costs and destroy family farms, how reckless economic policies and global monopolization threaten famine and chaos, and how ultra-processed food is undermining our health. This book is Klar's urgent call to wake up, fight back, and reclaim food sovereignty before disaster strikes. If Americans don't stand up for their farms, they surrender control over their most basic human need. Because once you lose your food, you lose everything.

Reviews

""The Coming Food Crisis shines a light on the vulnerabilities of our current food system and the farmers caught in the middle. Klar traces the forces reshaping our food supply in a way that's both gripping and deeply human. His analysis invites readers to question assumptions and look beyond the supermarket aisles to the soil itself. It's a timely, compelling read for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of where food, health, and freedom intersect.""--Dr. Sina McCullough, author of Hands Off My Food! and Beyond Labels ""This book is a vital, courageous defense of small farmers and local food systems at a moment when corporate consolidation and toxic inputs are pushing our food supply toward a breaking point. It exposes how policy, industry, and captured institutions have systematically undermined soil health, rural communities, and true food security, while pretending to 'feed the world.' Most importantly, it offers readers a path back to sanity: rebuilding living soil, supporting independent farmers, and reclaiming food sovereignty before crisis forces the issue.""--Kelly Ryerson, cofounder of American Regeneration ""The war on farmers is a war on us all. This is the message of John Klar's passionate book. The author not only exposes the threats to agriculture posed by globalism, eco-mania, powerful bureaucracies, interest groups, and ideological fads, but also, like his great predecessor, Cato the Elder--a Roman senator, soldier, and farmer-- presents farming as a dignified pursuit that builds bonds between people, connects us with nature, and allows for a better understanding of our existence in the world. A fascinating narrative about brave, hard-working people in confrontation with the soulless machinery of the powers-that-be.""--Ryszard Legutko, author of The Demon in Democracy and The Cunning of Freedom ""Are we facing famine in the age of plenty? Could supermarket shelves loaded with thousands of products mask an inherent fragility in the world's food supplies? The Coming Food Crisis paints exactly this scenario, chronicling elitist efforts to consolidate food production and eliminate farmers, especially livestock producers. 'Climate change' is just the latest propaganda salvo to criminalize the independent peasant farmer. John Klar paints a sobering picture while pointing to a solution: know your farmer, buy direct, and eat real food.""--Sally Fallon, founder and president of the Weston A. Price Foundation, and author of Nourishing Traditions ""The human arrogance to think that we can outsmart nature through technology has been eroding our health and destroying the ecosystem. To think that killing the cows and producing lab-grown meat is a solution to our problems is insanity. Toxic chemicals on our food are destroying our health and increasing the wealth of the pharmaceutical empire. This book will help you understand why the path we are now on is unsustainable and may ultimately lead to human extinction. Returning to the model of the small family farm is the only way forward.""--Dr. Stephanie Seneff, author of Toxic Legacy ""John Klar, a lawyer turned farmer, has seen the food supply fiasco we face up close and personal, and this lucid, concise book beautifully maps out the struggles ahead. You'd better listen up and learn!""--James Howard Kunstler, author of The Long Emergency ""I talk to hundreds of farmers every year who tell me that they feel that the cards are stacked against them. Well, as John Klar explains so vividly in his exceptional book, the war on farmers profoundly affects every one of us because everyone eats! I highly recommend this book.""--Gabe Brown, regenerative farmer and author of Dirt to Soil ""John Klar chronicles the challenges our country faces to have true food independence, and access to clean, untainted meat and produce raised by farmers who embrace regenerative practices, without cumbersome government red tape and interference from big food and big ag companies that are focused on profit over health. More Americans are learning about the corporate corruption of government agencies, and how big food and big ag companies contribute to the chemicals in our food supply that are partly responsible for the nation's chronic disease epidemic. In The Coming Food Crisis, Klar uses first-hand experience cultivated as a lawyer and a small independent farmer that brings attention to how America's food supply is at risk, and what can be done to improve the figurative and literal health of our nation.""--Jeff Louderback, reporter for Epoch Times ""John Klar brings a sobering urgency, clarity, and history to understanding this title. From this rude awakening he brings the reader into a rediscovery of the living world and how interconnected we are with our food and how we grow it. He paints a picture of possibility to revitalize an agrarian society that honors the past and recognizes the regenerative potential of this moment. This book is key for anyone digging into how we can improve our food system or improve the way we want to feed our family.""--Ryland Engelhart, cofounder of American Regeneration
