Author Information

Stephen Gaukroger was educated at London and Cambridge Universities. He is presently Professor of History of Philosophy and History of Science at the University of Sydney, where he also holds an ARC Professorial Research Fellowship, and Professor of Philosophy at the University of Aberdeen. He is author of seven books in the history of science and history of philosophy, including an intellectual biography of Descartes, as well as translations of the works of Descartes and Arnauld, and is editor of six collections of essays.
