Rajender Reddy, MD is Professor of Medicine and Surgery in the Division of Gastroenterology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is also the Director of Hepatology and the Medical Director of Liver Transplantation at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Reddy received his medical education from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India. He then completed a residency in internal medicine at New York Medical College Hospitals, a fellowship in Gastroenterology at East Tennessee State University College of Medicine, and a fellowship in Hepatology at the University of Miami School of Medicine. Subsequently he joined the faculty at the University of Miami in the Division of Hepatology and moved up the ranks to become a Professor of Medicine. In October 2001, Dr. Reddy moved to the University of Pennsylvania to the current position. A fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Gastroenterology, Dr. Reddy is also a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He has held several visiting professorships at medical schools throughout the world. Dr. Reddy has authored or coauthored over 200 peer-reviewed papers on a spectrum of hepatobiliary topics that include liver transplantation, chronic C viral hepatitis, HIV and the liver, and hepatocellular carcinoma. In addition, he has contributed to several textbooks and has participated in numerous scientific presentations at national and international meetings. He serves on the editorial boards of prestigious journals such as Liver Transplantation and is an ad-hoc reviewer for several journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine. Dr. Reddy also has participated in a number of clinical trials that have advanced the understanding of the therapy of chronic viral hepatitis. He has been the recipient of both federal and nonfederal funding for clinical research. His current research interests include areas of liver transplantation, viral hepatitis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Thomas Faust, MD is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Faust received his medical education from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Memphis, Tennessee. He then completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital, a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, and a fellowship in hepatology and transplant hepatology at the University of Nebraska. Dr. Faust has served as a faculty member both at the University of Chicago and the University of Pennsylvania. A fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Gastroenterology, Dr. Faust is also a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society of Transplantation, the International Liver Transplant Society, and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
