Overview

Most Speakers use their Wind Words powers to send message across vast distances, providing the crucial communications links that allow commerce and power to flow among the nations and the continents inhabited by the people of Ellan Sheeant and Rolemica. And then there's Silas, a remarkable Speaker whose powers are different, allowing him to not only move words, but also physical objects as well. Chosen by gods and goddesses to use his power to fight an evil that the deities disdain, Silas is laboring on an odyssey across many nations in pursuit of a battle with the most powerful mortal known, L'Anvien. And Silas is fortunate to count on an ally, Kestrel of the Eastern Forest, to ultimately join him at the place where the final battle will occur, if both of them can survive their journeys and then connect with one another before L'Anvien uncovers them. And Silas's heart remains under a cloud as he continues to dwell on the terrible decision he made to abandon Lumene. His regrets burden his heart and sap his will, threatening to distract him from the real dangers he faces. Arriving at L'Anvien's fortress turns out to be possible, but fighting the great evil himself? The challenge is a high mountain to climb.
