Table of ContentsReviewsThe series covers the escalation of events that preceded each war, what propelled the United States into the skirmishes, the battles themselves, and the aftermath. Resources include a chronology, chapter notes, a glossary, and further reading and websites, all working together to present a complete foundation for research. The works also include photos, quotes as primary source material, newspaper covers, maps, and other helpful aids. Additional segments consist of a brief overview of military officers, events that occurred, and the outcomes that followed. The Civil War title include lesser known battles. The World War II titles break the war up into specific theatres. The authors made sure to include military strategy, thoughts of the combatants, and struggles on the home front. The World War II titles could have used more maps to help pinpoint specific topics. While no subject is delved into too deeply, the series does present a brief but well-rounded overview. These titles would be a nice addition to libraries that have research units on these time periods. Index.
