Author Information

Michael Capek is a former teacher who lives with his family in Covington, Kentucky. He first saw a terracotta warrior face to face in a museum and has been fascinated by them ever since. Michael is the author of award-winning books for young readers, many of them about history. Steven Otfinoski has written more than 150 books for young readers. Three of his nonfiction books have been chosen Books for the Teen Age by the New York Public Library. Steve is also a playwright and has his own theater company that brings one-person plays about American history to schools. Steve lives in Connecticut with his wife, who is a teacher. They have two children, two dogs, and a cat. Amanda Peterson studied Geography at Gustavus Adolphus College and the University of Wisconsin. For as long as Amanda can remember, she has enjoyed learning about people and places. She currently spends her time writing and exploring the world with her toddler. Amanda and her family live in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
