She was a very inefficient secretary for many years and in many places and changed her career at 35 years of age to become a teacher of English as a Foreign Language. She taught in Great Britain for three years and then moved to Paris where she lived and worked for 23 years. She started writing short stories as a child and later wrote stories for BBC Radio Leeds. One of them was bought by Anglia Television for dramatization on ‘Tales of the Unexpected’. She has written two other novels, one not yet published.
