The Cicada Chronicles, One Broken Woman's Journey to Spiritual Transformation, tells of how one girl - raised in an idyllic American family found herself straying from the constraints of a strict upbringing - and the faith and courage it took to bring her back from the brink of total separation from God. After witnessing something as simple as the molting of a cicada, she began to understand how change can sometimes take years. This event, though seemingly peripheral, started her on a path to a spiritual conversion that finally gave her life purpose. The heart of her words speak compassion to young women, but her message can be powerful to all readers. Elizabeth Garza Cary grew up in rural South Texas and still calls it home. ""Liz"" has been writing all of her life. She attended Texas A&M University, Kingsville, where she earned a BA in Vocal Performance, and the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a BA in Journalism. Liz sang with the Austin Lyric Opera for five seasons, and after getting married and having their only daughter, they moved back to South Texas to help care for her aging parents. The Cicada Chronicles has been in the works since 1996, but it wasn't until after her 2024 retirement that she began preparing it for publication. Other projects in the works are an anthology of short essays and a screenplay of her parents' wonderful love story called, ""Run Mailman Run."" HOPE KELLEY BOOK PUBLISHING
