Overview

Xue Wan Shu, a put upon Chinese ranch cook in 1870's Arizona Territory, discovers a 3,000 year old sentient ginseng plant named Sang trapped beneath a jade pot in the garden behind the local herbalist's shop. When Sang begs Wan Shu for protection, the hapless cook finds himself in the midst of a fantastic adventure, fleeing the hexes of a sorcerous Tong boss, ducking the flashing blades of vicious hatchet men, and dodging the bullets and arrows of vengeful gunmen and Apache warriors, all while trying to protect the secret of Sang from his oblivious cowboy employers. Edward M. Erdelac, author of the acclaimed Merkabah Rider series, returns to the weird western with a tribute to the wuxia and kung fu comedy genres, dragged kicking and punching through the leather and tumbleweeds of the Old West.
