Overview

"A tale of adventure, beauty and kinship in the magic of the arctic circle. One night in a small town far, far north Cuno and Aia gathered around the fire. As the flames popped and crackled they listened as their father told the tale of a gigantic animal which was once hunted in the waters nearby. ""This animal is as big as three buses end to end. It has a heart as heavy as a car and makes a noise that could break human bones."" And so, brother and sister set off on a journey through the icy, arctic landscape in search of the whale. Daniel Frost's dream- like illustrations capture the beauty and silence of the wild north, drawing readers into a place where waters plunge vast and deep, and the skies breathe magic. The Children and the Whale is a bedtime story, a magical journey and reminder to enjoy the adventurous moments we create in the world."
