Tinkerbell Faeries were feared before JM Barry gave us Peter Pan or Walt Disnets. And rightly so. These dudes were believed to have stolen our beautiful chubby babies and left their own in their place. ugly mewling creatures that caused nothing but hurt to the families that they had been placed in. They were credited with poisoning milk, killing the animals and taking handsome young men and women to force into marriage. No mention then of these beings sprinkling faery dust on anyone. Faeries were Dangerous, Faeries were cruel and above all Faeries were to be avoided.

My real name is not Mary Ann Benbow, these are taken from both my maternal and paternal grandmothers. Two wonderful Celtic ladies gave me my roots and a sense of belonging to an ancient race. From them, I inherited my love of Celtic spirituality, and the ability to see and communicate with the gentry or the good people. During my lessons at school, a teacher would often accuse me of being away with the fairies, if only they had known that I often was.
