He was named The International Wine & Spirit Communicator of the Year 2015 in the International Wine & Spirit Competition, The Wine Communicators of Australia Australian Wine Communicator of the Year 2015 and 2013 and The International Champagne Writer of the Year 2011 in The Louis Roederer International Wine Writers' Awards. As a television presenter, Tyson is the host of the People of the Vines series.
