Author Information

Gisselle Cuomo was born in Montevideo in Uruguay in 1961. Her background is Italian as her family emigrated from Naples to Uruguay after the First World War. Gisselle was brought up by her grandparents in Montevideo. From 1973, she experienced life under the brutal military dictatorship in Uruguay. She studied Psychology and then worked for the Uruguayan government that emerged once the dictatorship was overthrown. She then qualified as a Clinical Psychologist and in 2002 emigrated to Barcelona where she practiced as a clinician for several years. She moved to the USA and finally settled in the United Kingdom in 2011 where she obtained her Masters in Psychology and worked in various roles as Lead Clinical Psychologist.
