Overview

The Captain and her Mate Lieutenant Commander Theresa Leslie, the youngest female Lieutenant Commander in the Navy, is assigned to bring the old patrol boat ""Derecho"" out of mothballs as the first patrol boat of the Navy's new coastal defense force. On one of her infrequent days off, she meets Lieutenant Matt Chapman, a junior officer who is waiting to join his ship when it arrives in port. After they spend the night together, Theresa receives emergency orders for the Derecho. Theresa must take her green crew and untested boat to assist a team of Navy SEALs in retaking an LP gas tanker that has been hijacked by terrorists. As the Derecho prepares to leave port, Theresa's new weapons officer arrives- Lieutenant Matt Chapman- the man she had just spent the night with. She must hide her love for Matt and his daughter Sophie.
