Eli J. Finkel, Professor of Psychology and Management & Organizations, Northwestern University, USA 'Our social relationships can be our greatest sources of joy and sometimes our greatest sources of despair. Bringing together interdisciplinary scholars, Vangelisti, Perlman, Sprecher, and the contributing authors beautifully present cutting-edge research on pertinent topics related to the study of social and personal relationships. Spanning from theory to practice, this handbook is a 'go-to' guide for those interested in the science and practice of personal relationships.' Ashley K. Randall, Professor and Senior Global Futures Scientist, Arizona State University, USA 'The editors have compiled a comprehensive and timely text examining personal relationship research and pedagogy, comprised of expert interdisciplinary contributors. Foundational content contextualizes current trends and future directions for relationship scholars. It is an ideal text to assign in graduate courses and belongs in every research(er's) library. If I were to recommend one book as a primer on the state of relationships science, it would be this one.' Leah E. Bryant, President, International Association for Relationship Research, and Associate Professor of Communication Studies, DePaul University, USA
