Table of ContentsReviewsDr. Paul Kulkosky Professor of Psychology, Colorado State University The Caffeine Advantage will be an important and popular book, indeed a boon to humanity! It is a wonderful work of popular science that will improve many lives if read properly. A copy should be placed in every cafe! It should win public-service awards and sell many copies. Reading it was a pleasure not unlike drinking coffee made from freshly ground beans. Peter R. Martin, M.D Professor of Psychiatry and Pharmacology, Vanderbilt Addiction Center and Institute for Coffee Studies, Vanderbilt University It is clearly a well written and useful book for the layman...I admire how effectively the authors communicate the complexities. Professor Andrew Smith Director, Centre for Occupational and Health Psychology, Cardiff University, U.K. This book does an excellent job in organizing a vast amount of complex information about caffeine. Readers will find the prescriptive approach helpful and the practical advice well presented. It represents an excellent example of how to go about improving the public understanding of science. Harris R. Lieberman, Ph.D. Military Nutrition Division, USARIEM Visiting Professor, Tufts University This book is an excellent example of how to introduce good science into public debate and how to help people benefit from science in their daily lives. The authors do an exceptional job of synthesizing extremely diverse research to reach important, novel, and practical conclusions. Caffeine has been unfairly tainted by many opinion makers in the media, and this book should push the debate in a more fruitful direction. I was particularly happy to see recommendations regarding caffeine use and driving. I fear that many well-meaning but uninformed health experts urge people to avoid caffeine -- advice that could actually cause the death of a person driving at night in a drowsy state.
