Overview

"Originally from the Philippines, Myrna P. Tesoro came to the US to pursue an M.E. in Early Childhood Education from T C, Columbia University.in NYC. As a teacher, she infused passion and creativity into the school program. In 2019, she was the recipient of the Nina Brannen Award as an Outstanding Teacher of Young Children, by the Southern Arizona Association for the Education of Young Children (AEYC). Decades in the making, The Butterfly Tree, finally came forth, after a long period of writer's block. Challenged by author Adiba Nelson, her Muse-Come-Timely, to find her core, own her story and manifest her emotions. Myrna finally unraveled the wise and happy secret of writing from the heart. Myrna has traveled extensively in the US and Europe as an offshoot of her interest in the Humanities. She regularly posts The ""Passionista"" Next Door on FB, a blog sharing interactive Life Hacks. She is a widow with four grown - up children and five grandchildren. She lives in Tucson, AZ. Set in a fantasy garden, The Butterfly Tree is a retold tale on the theme, ""Treat others how you want to be treated."" Bored of perfection, 3 butterflies set off on a mischief and wreaked havoc to the meek and obedient creatures. And never got away with it! How they redeemed themselves is the heart-tugging lesson of The Butterfly Tree.A distinguished early childhood educator and advocate, Myrna P. Tesoro's passion for young children is inspiring. In her new book, The Butterfly Tree, that passion is transpired into the story of three beautiful butterflies who learn a powerful lesson about the importance of caring for those around us. Full of colorful prose, this story connects to children and adults alike and is sure to warm a reader's heart.Amy M. Baum, Regional Director at First Things First, Southern Arizona, U.S.A."
