Dostoevsky's final novel, The Brothers Karamazov, is generally considered his masterpiece, and is often cited as the greatest novel of all time. Set in nineteenth-century Russia, it tells the story of three brothers-the spirited Dmitri, Ivan the intellectual, and Alyosha, a devout monk-whose interior worlds collide in the aftermath of their dissolute father's murder.
