Author Information

Masayuki Okazaki is a specialist of apatites chemistry and their application to biomaterials for tissue generation. He received his PhD from Kyoto University in 1978, and became a Professor Emeritus at Hiroshima University in 2011. He received the Scientific Award of the Japanese Society for Biomaterials in 2007 and the Scientific Award of the Japanese Society for Dental Materials and Devices in 2010. He developed novel synthesis equipment for apatites, allowing the synthesis of functionally graded fluoridated apatites.
