OverviewThe Book of Moons is a collection of poems received as dreams over the last few years. For some people dreams can be non-existent, for others vague and dim. There are those who dread their dreams while some love them so much they make sure there's time set aside in the day to close their eyes and see what's going on. For Keone, dreams are a powerful parallel reality that informs and responds to their waking life. This collection evolved out of Keone's practice of writing down dreams. As their practice continued, the dreams came through more vividly and the writing appeared more fluidly. These are poems from the subconscious, transcribed in the liminal state between waking and sleeping. They are poems of transformation and change, both personal and collective. Poems that dive headlong into the tidal wave and step down into the ice blue abyss. They describe magical worlds where boys shapeshift into divinities and goddesses sit next to you on the sofa, where seals merge and cats carry us between realms, flying above roundabouts. For someone who now goes by the name given to them on a slip of paper by a woman in a dream, The Book of Moons is their child.
