She is a PK and a native Texan but has not lived there since 1953. She graduated from SMU in Dallas, Texas, in 1959 with a degree in fine arts. She went on to do graduate work in Art of the Church at Drew University in New Jersey. And her career was, wonderfully, at the Field School, a college preparatory school in Washington, D.C ., where she taught art history to grades 6 - 12 and eventually became the assistant director. Silas Koyama is a Freshman at the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. He is 18 and has been gifted with a flawless sense of design and an ever-abiding sense of humor. In his illustrations he is depicting his uncle, mother, and grandmother. He is Allie Hardwick's grandson. He loves his classes and at this point doesn't have a major.
