Jake discovered the real story of moonshiners isn't in the music or the TV movies in the making of shine. Behind the legend, it was about making shine and handling the legacy down from one generation to the other. It was a hard life for the people trying to make a living, it took a toll on folks. Alcohol addiction, prison, broken marriages, broken promises, children raised to make and sell shine, hiding their shine from the law, homelessness all played a part of their lives, some even committing suicide to prevent doing time. Moon shining was a lifestyle unlike you ever heard of.
