OverviewThe Blessed God is the God of lovingkindness and compassion. In the Old Testament the Hebrew word is ""chesed;"" the redeeming, restoring, forgiving love of the LORD. It is the most used word for love in the Hebrew Bible. For compassion I use the Greek word, ""splagchnon;"" the intense, almost nauseating, sock in the gut feeling when you encounter a person in extreme suffering. These two terms, chesed and splagchnon, represent the expansive, personal, confirming love of God toward His children. To understand the ramifications of knowing and worshipping the Blessed God, instead of the punitive, caustic, dissatisfied and narcissistic Deity of so much of the Evangelical Church, can be life changing! In my focus of the Chesed of the Father, and the splagchnon of the Son, I wish for you to be inspired and that you ""may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breath, length, height and depth and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.""
