Overview

How many shades of black exist in this world? None so dark as the darkest soul of the Black Metal Coloring Book! Now, for yourself or your young minions, the Black Metal Coloring Book is a perfect way to enjoy the pantheon of Black Metal Gods. We introduced you to the Lords of Chaos: The Bloody Rise of the Satanic Metal Underground, co-written by Michael Moynihan and Didrik Søderlindin in 1997. About which, Publishers Weekly said, ""[F]ans will find much to savor here"" and Rolling Stone said, ""Lords of Chaos provides a comprehensive look at this particular subculture and the unpleasantness left in its wake."" (The Hollywood-produced film directed by the acclaimed Jonas Akerlund starring Rory Culkin and this summer's favorite ingénue Sky Ferreira is slated for release in Spring of 2018.) Includes art by, Gaye Black (bassist of the early British punk band The Adverts), Savage Pencil, Mike Diana, Billy Chainsaw, Jason Atomic (creator of Satanic Mojo Comics), Anthony Ausgang, Anna Piera Di Silvestre, Paul ""Mutartis"" Boswell, Dennis Franklin, Nico de la Mort, Andrew Labanaris, Rachael Gater, Laughing Indio, Corinne Halbert, and more.

Author Information

From London to Tokyo, New York or Berlin Jason Atomic is a familiar face in a variety of subcultures. BILLY CHAINSAW was born and raised in Birmingham. Inspired by the onset of punk, in the late 1970s he escaped factory life and moved to London. He has exhibited in numerous group shows in Brighton and Los Angeles, and staged a month-long solo show at London's prestigious Horse Hospital gallery. Michael Christopher ""Mike"" Diana is an underground cartoonist. His work deals with themes including sexuality, violence, and religion With her trademark dark eye makeup and black leather jacket, ex bass player Gaye Black AKA Gaye Advert was the quintessential punk poster girl of the 1970's. Advert appeared in several editions of the music weekly Sounds, NME and Melody Maker, and after a couple of appearances on Top of The Pops she cemented her place as the 1970's Britpunk ""It Girl."" During the late 1970's, she was photographed in London with the likes of Captain Sensible (the Damned), Joey Ramone, Motorhead's Lemmy, and the Sex Pistols' Paul Cook, as well as her fellow band member (and long term partner) T.V Smith.
