OverviewThis is the first biography of the Black Keys. Emerging from the rust belt city of Akron, guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Pat Carney formed the duo in 2001. As perpetual underdogs who recorded their first two albums in Carney's basement, the Black Keys spent a decade criss-crossing the country in a packed minivan. However, after releasing the 2010 album Brothers, the Black Keys were on their way to becoming the biggest rock band in the world. Merging alternative rock with electric blues, the Black Keys created a musical storm as they filled concert halls and headlined festivals. Remaining at the top of their game in the 2020s, Auerbach and Carney continue to churn out their unique brand of bluesy rock and roll.
