His plays have been produced in New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Boston, Denver, Paris, the United Kingdom, South Africa, South Korea and at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Tait studied playwriting with the Nobel Prize laureate Derek Walcott at Boston University and music composition at Bard College. In 2002, in Paris, Tait founded Theatre Metropole.
